ME Time

July 13, 2017

Why do so many of us wait until something scary happens before we make a change in our lifestyle?

I remember my Qi Gong instructor from massage school explaining that Chinese medicine was intended to be used as a form of preventative care but most Americans wait until they are at deaths door before they seek alternative options.

Why do we do this?

Why can’t we use Eastern and Western practices together?

Why do so many of us wait until we are forced into a healthy lifestyle?

What do we need to do to make it less painful to choose preventative care?

What are we really giving up?

How can we train ourselves to slowly integrate healthy habits without feeling deprived of joy?

Today can be the first day of making a healthy choice.

What is your body really asking for?

What does your mind need to focus on?

How can you nurture your spirit?

Are you afraid of losing family traditions?

Are you concerned that your friends will desert you or make fun of you?

What’s more painful? Making a choice to change or waiting until something forces you to change?

I’ve seen plenty of casualties through the years working in the spa industry.

Therapists and Stylists working to the point of exhaustion and injury.

Last year I became one of those casualties and was forced to make some major changes.

My 33 years working in the spa industry has shown me that this profession attracts Caregivers.

Caregivers tend to care for themselves last and that is not okay.

Body Code sessions allow for the release of emotional garbage that prevents us from living a healthy, happy life.

This last year I gave myself permission to rest, recover and dig deep into the darkest side of myself and release what no longer serves me.

One of the biggest changes I have noticed is that I understand how to apply personal boundaries.

This had a lot to do with my limited self-worth. Every day is a new day to fill your life with gratitude and joy!

I’m so happy that I have found tools and systems that support my health and well-being!

Sharing what has worked for me is a way for me to encourage others to experience a more balanced lifestyle.
